Job summary

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Systems Director–Systems Engineering and Digital Engineering to provide leadership across a civil systems group. You will guide a seasoned team of engineers, collaborate with Engineering Technical Managers, and support DOE/NNSA Defense Programs tasks.

This is a full-time role based in multiple locations; remote work is limited, with four onsite days required per week. You will mentor staff, manage budgets, engage customers, and identify new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related technical discipline.
• 12+ years of progressively responsible engineering/scientific experience.
• Experience in a managerial/leadership role with contractors, customers, and staff.
• Active Top Secret or DOE clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Aerospace Enterprise Engineering team members with challenging Defense Programs issues.
• Establish and communicate objectives/goals for the organization and sub-units.
• Provide strategic leadership aligned with corporate policies and objectives.
• Manage staffing, budget, and resource allocation with senior leadership.
• Report activities and progress to management and customers.
• Coordinate work across the organization to meet cost and schedule goals.
• Seek opportunities for new business and pursue new possibilities.
• Mentor staff and drive performance reviews and career development.
• Direct technical group performing engineering design, analysis, or R&D activities.
• Influence customers to field more integrated solutions.
