The Aerospace Corporation in Greenbelt, MD seeks a Principal Director - Engineering Program Management and Systems Engineering to lead space missions programs and oversee system engineering efforts for NASA and joint programs.

You will manage cross-functional teams, develop operating plans, control budgets, mentor staff, and ensure mission success while coordinating with GSFC and other agencies. A Secret clearance and US citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science or engineering required.
• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience relevant to the position.
• 10+ years of experience advancing US space missions.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for strategic and tactical positioning of the Space Missions directorate to deliver value to customers.
• Lead directors and staff to support GSFC divisions, programs, and projects toward success.
• Collaborate with Aerospace backplane to solve NASA’s hardest problems with on-site staff and customers.
• Oversee GSFC work execution to meet technical requirements, cost, and schedule constraints.
• Develop technical operating plans, budget control, staffing, and workforce development; engage customers.
• Provide technical leadership and coordinate with subject matter experts across distributed teams.
• Align strategy and goals; mentor staff and retain top talent; foster innovation and mission focus.
