Job summary

Amazon in Bellevue, WA is offering a System Development Engineer Internship. You will work on tools and services within a larger system, contributing technically from day one, writing secure, maintainable code and solving complex challenges across hardware, software, and networking domains.

The program supports hands-on learning, mentorship, and exposure to diverse teams, with a path to impact real-world Amazon systems and customer solutions during the 12-week term.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled or have completed a Bachelor's degree in CS/CE/SE or related field.
• Experience coding in at least one language (Python, C/C++, Java, Ruby, or PowerShell).
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 weeks internship maximum.

Responsibilities

• Create, improve, or invent tools and/or applications that are part of a larger system.
• Build and operate a service or product with significant technical contributions.
• Write code that is secure, stable, testable, and maintainable with minimal defects.
• Understand a variety of technologies (hardware, software, networking, OS) and how they interact.
• Build systems and processes enabling others with safety, agility, and automation.
• Learn the business context and technologies behind your team's systems.
