Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. - B02 is seeking system development engineer interns for Winter 2027 and Summer 2027 across WA, TX, AZ, and MA. Interns will own projects, learn through hands-on building, and contribute to scalable systems and cloud services from day one.

You must be pursuing a Bachelors or higher in a related field with coding/scripting experience in at least one language. Hours are 40/week, 12 weeks, and relocation may be required.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience coding, scripting, automating in at least one language (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, Ruby, or PowerShell).
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 week internship maximum.

• Build and operate a supportable product or service with significant technical contributions.
• Write code that is secure, stable, testable, maintainable and has minimal defects.

This position is currently hiring for Winter (Jan-March, 2027) and Summer (May-June, 2027) in several locations in WA, TX, AZ, and MA.

Our internship program provides hands-on learning and building experiences for students who are interested in a career in system engineering. In addition to working on an impactful project, you will have the opportunity to engage with Amazonians for both personal and professional development, expand your network, and participate in fun activities with other interns throughout the summer. Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with open-source technologies (e.g. Linux, Spring, React)
• Experience with TCP/ICP networking fundamentals and application of IP protocols such as: DNS, DHCP, NTP, SMTP, and SNMP
• Experience with distributed computing, programs and systems
• Experience with automating and simplifying team development, test, and operations processes
• Knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as object-oriented design, operating systems, algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis
• Experience with documentation and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
