Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. invites engineering interns to join a hands-on program focused on system engineering across a variety of tech areas.

You will collaborate with mentors to build, test, and deploy scalable tools and services that power customer experiences globally. The internship emphasizes ownership, learning-by-building, and exposure to cloud-native, distributed systems, and ML-driven solutions.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
• Experience coding, scripting, automating in at least one language (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, Ruby, or PowerShell)
• 18 years of age or older
• Work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 week internship maximum

This position is currently hiring for Winter (Jan-March, 2027) and Summer (May-June, 2027) in several locations in WA, TX, AZ, and MA.

Our internship program provides hands-on learning and building experiences for students who are interested in a career in system engineering. In addition to working on an impactful project, you will have the opportunity to engage with Amazonians for both personal and professional development, expand your network, and participate in fun activities with other interns throughout the summer. Basic Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with open-source technologies (e.g. Linux, Spring, React)
• Experience with TCP/ICP networking fundamentals and application of IP protocols such as: DNS, DHCP, NTP, SMTP, and SNMP
• Experience with distributed computing, programs and systems
• Experience with automating and simplifying team development, test, and operations processes
• Knowledge of computer science fundamentals such as object-oriented design, operating systems, algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis
• Experience with documentation and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
