Day Wireless Systems seeks a System Design Professional to apply advanced mathematical and engineering methods to wireless system designs. You will design and develop in-building wireless systems, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure systems are robust, scalable, and meet performance requirements.

You will work remotely with occasional on-site collaboration in Oregon and across projects, using iBwave and AutoCAD to produce designs, BOMs, and installation documents, while

  • Design and develop in-building wireless systems (Public Safety DAS, Commercial DAS, LMR)
  • Produce wireless system designs and layouts using AutoCAD and iBwave
  • Create construction drawing packages, BOMs, and installation documents
  • Coordinate with Architects, Engineers, GCs, and specialty contractors
  • Interface with AHJs, radio system owners, and wireless carriers
  • Provide remote and on-site support during commissioning, testing, and optimization
  • Review RFIs and submittals and support project planning and budgeting

Jobbeschreibung

Summary: Applies known scientific and mathematical discoveries to the solution of wireless systems designs through the use of mathematical tools of differential equations, calculus and statistics and commonly understood physical systems approaches. As a System Design Professional, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex systems and solutions to meet the needs of our clients. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure that the systems are robust, scalable, and meet the performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop in-building wireless communication systems, including Public Safety DAS, Commercial DAS, and LMR radio systems.
  • Produce wireless system designs and layouts using AutoCAD and related design tools.
  • Develop complete construction drawing packages, including plans, details, riser diagrams, and installation documents.
  • Create, review, maintain, and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, including Architects, Engineers (A/E), General Contractors (GCs), and specialty contractors.
  • Interface with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), radio system owners, wireless carriers, and other project stakeholders.
  • Provide remote and on-site technical support during system commissioning, testing, optimization, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and other construction-related documentation.
  • Support project planning activities, including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience designing wireless telecommunications systems, including one or more of the following:
    • Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems
    • Public Safety Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
    • Commercial Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience using iBwave for wireless system design and modeling.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience using AutoCAD for engineering design and documentation.
  • Demonstrated subject matter expertise (SME) in at least one of the following:
    • Commercial DAS systems
    • Public Safety DAS systems
    • Motorola radio systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing enterprise Wi-Fi systems.
  • FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL).
  • NICET Certification.
  • iBwave Level 2 Certification or higher.
  • Manufacturer/OEM certifications from recognized wireless infrastructure vendors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Familiarity with BIM workflows and coordination platforms such as Revit and Navisworks is preferred
