Job summary

Day-Wireless-1 is seeking a System Design Professional to design and develop complex wireless systems, including LMR and DAS, applying differential equations, calculus and statistics to meet performance requirements.

You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure robustness and scalability, produce AutoCAD construction drawings and BOMs, coordinate with AHJs and project stakeholders, and provide remote support during commissioning and testing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years designing wireless telecommunications systems (LMR, Public Safety DAS, Commercial DAS).
• Minimum 2 years using iBwave for wireless system design and modeling.
• Minimum 1 year using AutoCAD for engineering design and documentation.
• Subject matter expertise in at least one: Commercial DAS, Public Safety DAS, Motorola radio systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop in-building wireless systems: LMR, DAS, and related networks.
• Produce wireless system designs and layouts using AutoCAD and related tools.
• Create, review, maintain BOMs throughout project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with Architects, Engineers, GCs, and contractors.
• Interface with AHJs, radio system owners, wireless carriers, and stakeholders.
• Provide remote and on-site support during commissioning, testing, and optimization.
• Review RFIs, submittals, and construction documentation.
• Support project planning: scope, scheduling, budgeting, and resources.

Summary:

Applies known scientific and mathematical discoveries to the solution of wireless systems designs through the use of mathematical tools of differential equations, calculus and statistics and commonly understood physical systems approaches. As a System Design Professional, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex systems and solutions to meet the needs of our clients. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure that the systems are robust, scalable, and meet the performance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop in-building wireless communication systems, including Public Safety DAS, Commercial DAS, and LMR radio systems.
• Produce wireless system designs and layouts using AutoCAD and related design tools.
• Develop complete construction drawing packages, including plans, details, riser diagrams, and installation documents.
• Create, review, maintain, and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, including Architects, Engineers (A/E), General Contractors (GCs), and specialty contractors.
• Interface with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), radio system owners, wireless carriers, and other project stakeholders.
• Provide remote and on-site technical support during system commissioning, testing, optimization, and troubleshooting activities.
• Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and other construction-related documentation.
• Support project planning activities, including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience designing wireless telecommunications systems, including one or more of the following:
  • Land Mobile Radio (LMR) systems
  • Public Safety Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
  • Commercial Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS)
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience using iBwave for wireless system design and modeling.
• Minimum 1 year of experience using AutoCAD for engineering design and documentation.
• Demonstrated subject matter expertise (SME) in at least one of the following:
  • Commercial DAS systems
  • Public Safety DAS systems
  • Motorola radio systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing enterprise Wi-Fi systems.
• FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL).
• NICET Certification.
• iBwave Level 2 Certification or higher.
• Manufacturer/OEM certifications from recognized wireless infrastructure vendors.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Familiarity with BIM workflows and coordination platforms such as Revit and Navisworks is preferred
