Job summary

Corning Inc. is seeking a Systems Design Engineer to design passive optical network solutions for FTTH, MDU, and FTTB deployments in Charlotte, NC. You will develop technically sound network designs and BOMs, collaborating with Sales and Customer Care to present solutions and provide training.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Engineering, 2+ years in telecom, CAD/GIS familiarity, and strong English communication. Normal hours 8am–5pm, up to 25% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• 100% proficiency in English, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Develop optimized passive optical network solutions for FTTH/MDU/FTTB deployments.
• Collaborate with Sales and Customer Care to present designs and provide training.
• Manage multiple design iterations to meet technical and financial objectives.
• Maintain communication with internal teams to manage commercial impact.
• Contribute to Design Engineering team duties and support special projects.
