Job summary

nVent is seeking a Systems Assembly Operator at its Warwick, RI facility to perform advanced assembly of complex parts and units, ensuring quality and safety standards. The role involves using hand and power tools, reading instructions, and supporting lean processes in a fast-paced environment.

Candidates should have electro-mechanical assembly experience and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with 3–5 years in similar roles.

Qualifications

• Electro-mechanical assembly experience preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience performing complex assembly operations preferred.
• Ability to read and write, follow written instructions, and complete job-related paperwork.
• Effective interpersonal abilities to excel in a collaborative and ambitious work environment.
• Physical requirements: Lift, push, pull objects up to 50 lbs. several times daily; Stand, walk, bend, and lift for 8+ hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Ensure incoming material is the correct quantity, quality, and part number, selecting parts, tools, and equipment required for quality assembly of sophisticated components & systems.
• Operate machinery, hand tools, and pneumatic tools involved in repetitive and routine functions such as riveting, drilling, gluing, and assembling.
• Use properly calibrated precision measuring instruments and electrical circuit testers when performing quality inspections/checks to maintain exceptionally high standards.
• Package completed components for shipment to customer, including constructing skids; selecting packaging material; shrink wrapping components/skids; banding containers, printing shipping labels, etc.
• Cross-train in all assembly line steps for efficient team functionality and seamless operations.
• Receives daily direction and support from the Team Leader/Supervisor, and carries out all work adhering to required quality, safety and lean standards.
• Work in a repetitive, fast-paced environment and participate in teams to improve processes.
• Train new team members as needed.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
