Job summary

nVent in Warwick, RI is seeking an experienced Systems Assembly Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will perform advanced assembly of complex components, using mechanical, plumbing, and electrical parts to meet precise quality standards.

You will read and follow written instructions, operate power tools, and participate in lean initiatives while collaborating with teammates to improve processes. Physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long shifts.

Qualifications

• Electro-mechanical assembly experience preferred.
• 3-5 years of previous experience performing complex assembly operations preferred.
• Ability to read and write, follow written instructions, and complete job-related paperwork.
• Effective interpersonal abilities to excel in a collaborative and ambitious work environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure incoming material is the correct quantity, quality, and part number.
• Operate machinery, hand tools, and pneumatic tools for riveting, drilling, gluing, and assembling.
• Use properly calibrated precision measuring instruments and electrical circuit testers for quality inspections.
• Package completed components for shipment, including constructing skids and labeling.
• Cross-train in all assembly line steps for efficient team functionality.
• Receive daily direction from Team Leader/Supervisor and adhere to quality, safety and lean standards.
• Train new team members as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

Ensure incoming material is the correct quantity, quality, and part number, selecting parts, tools, and equipment required for quality assembly of sophisticated components & systems. Operate machinery, hand tools, and pneumatic tools involved in repetitive and routine functions such as riveting, drilling, gluing, and assembling. Use properly calibrated precision measuring instruments and electrical circuit testers when performing quality inspections/checks to maintain exceptionally high standards. Package completed components for shipment to customer, including constructing skids; selecting packaging material; shrink wrapping components/skids; banding containers, printing shipping labels, etc. Cross-train in all assembly line steps for efficient team functionality and seamless operations. Receives daily direction and support from the Team Leader/Supervisor, and carries out all work adhering to required quality, safety and lean standards. Work in a repetitive, fast-paced environment and participate in teams to improve processes. Train new team members as needed. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

YOU HAVE:

Physical requirements:

Lift, push, pull objects up to 50 lbs. several times daily; Stand, walk, bend, and lift for 8+ hour shifts; Ability to perform visual inspection of parts; Regularly lift and/or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
