Job description

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or in an area relevant to the position) with 12+ years of experience in software development, managing development teams, and engineering large-scale enterprise applications. Note: 4+ additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph, or TS with SCI eligibility and ability to obtain a polygraph
  • Proficiency in:
    • Agile development methodologies
    • AWS architecture and hosting solutions
    • General knowledge ofdatabase design,web services, andUI development
  • Proven experience in:
    • Planning, scheduling, and tracking software development efforts.
    • Delivering high-quality customer presentations usingPowerPoint, Excel, and MS Project.
  • Strong multitasking capabilities to manage multiple concurrent efforts.
  • Past experience managingprogram costs and funding.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Agile environment.
  • Must be able to work full-time in aSCIF; flexible hours are available.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with modernization of legacy systems and implementing cost-cutting solutions.
  • Familiarity withhuman intelligence (HUMINT)collection and dissemination systems.
  • Proven track record of designing solutions addressingcross-domain environments and Zero Trustprinciples.

Peraton’s National Programs Business Intelligence Systems & Applications Operating Unitis seeking anexperienced Systems Architectto support its SITE III DO contract. This high-impact role is essential for orchestrating, sustaining, and evolving a portfolio of mission-critical applications and services supporting a major Directorate within theU.S. Intelligence Community (IC).

TheSITE III DOcontract is designed to ensure a multi-disciplinary approach to requirements engineering, solutions architecture, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, service development, integration, testing, maintainability, and analysis across the National apparatus ofDefense Intelligence, Combatant Commands, Partner Nations, and other Federal Agencies. This multifaceted effort ensures timely and accurateHUMINTcollection, correlation, and dissemination.

Our team applies best practices inarchitectural design, data science, cloud services, DevSecOps, and platform integrationto develop, sustain, and enhance the globalU.S. HUMINT apparatus, supporting partners within the U.S. and beyond.

Key Responsibilities

TheSystems Architectwill:

  • Lead Application Design:
    • Oversee the design and development of applications withstate-of-the-art cloud-based architecturesand tools.
    • Address advanced performance and security requirements, including zero trust, single sign-on (SSO), multi-factor authentication, cross-domain, PKI, RBAC, logging, CMT, and other initiatives.
  • Create Design Artifacts:
    • Lead design tasks in collaboration with project leads and developers to produce DoDAF-compliant diagrams (e.g.,OV, SV) and artifacts required for theRisk Management Framework (RMF)process.
    • Utilize tools includingPowerPoint, Visio, and Microsoft Projectto brief customers and document design and implementation details.
  • Optimize Legacy Systems & Architecture Modernization:
    • Drive the modernization and upgradeof legacy applications to minimize technical debt, address security requirements, and reduce operational costs by leveraging new tools and approaches.
  • Cost Estimation & Planning:
    • Generatecost estimatesandRough Order of Magnitude (ROM)calculations by leveraging deep knowledge of resource levels, technical requirements, and customer needs.
    • Promotecode reuse, implement reusablemicro-services, and leverageenterprise servicesfor new and existing applications.
  • Quality Assurance & Risk Management:
    • SupportQuality Assurance (QA)tasks to ensure compliance with customer expectations and program requirements.
    • Participate inRisk Managementstrategies and mitigation activities.
  • Collaboration & Problem Solving:
    • Cultivate stakeholder consensus across engineering and leadership teams while conveying technical vision and priorities.
    • Adapt and adjust plans based on evolving feedback and project dynamics.
    • Provide mentorship and insight to engineers and communicate plans effectively to senior leadership.
