Job summary

University of Alabama is hiring a Systems Analyst II. The analyst plans, configures, and supports low- to moderate-complexity software systems that serve the university’s administrative functions, working on the Departmental Application Support team that primarily supports the Technolutions Slate CRM. The team serves campus partners including Enrollment Management, the Graduate School, the Office of Teaching Innovation and Digital Education, and the Capstone Center for Student Success.

Highlights

• Plan and configure low- to moderate-complexity software systems, including departmental and moderately critical applications, that support the university’s administrative functions under moderate supervision.
• Install, configure, support, and maintain integrations for vendor-supplied software systems, while helping develop processes and creating workflows.
• Act as primary and secondary support person for processes across the Slate instances the university’s IT organization supports, along with various other applications and processes.
• Collaborate with departments, colleges, and customers around campus to troubleshoot and resolve issues and answer questions in a timely manner, and offer guidance and training to entry-level systems analysts.
• Qualify through a master’s degree; a bachelor’s degree plus two years of IT system analysis; an associate’s degree plus four years of IT experience, two in system analysis; or a high school diploma or GED plus six years of IT experience, two in system analysis.
• Write and analyze SQL queries and reports in Oracle, MS SQL, or MySQL, analyze table structures and data patterns for insights, and implement third-party applications from installation and configuration documentation.
• Preferred candidates have two years in a relevant IT field, experience supporting higher education administrative applications such as Technolutions Slate or a similar CRM, and base knowledge of Windows Server and IIS configuration and Linux commands.
• Pay grade starting at $57,200 with a $74,300 midpoint, on a Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm schedule; hybrid work is allowed subject to university policy.
