Responsibilities

  • Analyzes business functions to develop or modify information processing systems.
  • Consults with management to document business needs, objectives, data scope, and security requirements.
  • Provides technical assistance in evaluating and developing systems and procedures.
  • Writes and maintains functional specifications for new or modified systems.
  • Tracks and documents changes to functional and business specifications.
  • Creates user documentation, instructions, and procedures.
  • Monitors post-implementation problems and revision requests.
  • Maintains user security and integrity of system data.
  • Reviews logs to determine causes of issues and areas for improvement.
  • Understands and implements system infrastructure changes and upgrades.

TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a talented Systems Analyst I to join our Quick Response Team in Houston, Texas.

Summary

The Systems Analyst I functions as a tech emergency responder, helping to minimize operational downtime and mitigate critical security or technical failures by rapidly troubleshooting, containing and resolving high severity IT outages and cyber threats.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Analyzes business functions in order to develop new or modified information processing systems.
  • Consults with business unit management and personnel to identify and document business needs and objectives, current operational procedures, problems, input and output requirements, data scope, usage, formatting, and security requirements.
  • Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures.
  • Writes and maintains functional specifications for new or modified business systems.
  • Tracks and documents changes to functional and business specifications.
  • Creates or assists others in the writing of user documentation, instructions, and procedures.
  • Monitors and documents post-implementation problems and revision requests.
  • Maintains user security and integrity of system data.
  • Review logs to determine what causes issues and how to improve upon them
  • Understanding and implementation of setting changes and upgrades in the system's infrastructure
