Job Description

A Systems Analyst works under general supervision having an overall broad depth of hospital and information systems technology. The role involves:

• Conducting business requirement reviews, documenting requirements, and formulating business requirements for moderately complex information systems.
• Generating systems scope and objectives, suggesting workflow and process improvements, and modifying, testing, and implementing third‑party software or creating simple programmatic/scripted solutions.
• Leading small to mid‑size teams on small to mid‑size projects (40–80 hrs) involving low‑integration systems.
• Fully documenting requirements, testing, code/script, processes, and workflow.
• Guiding and advising Associate Systems Analysts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in IS/Business or healthcare emphasis)
• Or 2‑year Associate’s Degree with two years of relevant experience (IS/Business/Healthcare)
• Or High School Diploma or GED and four years of experience in Information Systems (IS) within healthcare

Technical Knowledge (required)

• Working knowledge of MS Desktop products
• Client/Server applications—point‑to‑point with PointClickCare and Natus

General Understanding

• Common programming languages (e.g., C++ and Java)
• IT selection and implementation methodology
• Software development best practices
• Required technical documentation including flowcharts
• Interpreting vendor technical requirements
• Relational database concepts
• Operating systems (AIX, Windows, macOS, Linux)
• Types of hardware, storage, and computing capacity of computers
• Backup processes and disaster recovery
• Common technical terminology
• Computer security procedures and protocols
