Job summary

Peoples Gas, part of TECO Energy, is seeking a Systems Analyst in Florida (Tampa) to develop software based on specifications and provide primary/secondary support for applications. You’ll work with an Applications Development and Support team, potentially lead small projects, and coordinate with vendor resources as needed.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 2+ years in systems analysis, and strong communication and technical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information/Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent.
• 2 years of experience in systems analysis, design, and development.
• Working knowledge of business software applications and hardware technologies; stay current with IT trends.
• Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Understands project plans, can articulate goals and timelines; develops small project plans.
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Develops software of moderate complexity based on specifications.
• Implements software packages with moderate configuration and integration; may coordinate vendor resources.
• Integrates applications with moderately complex interfaces based on specs.
• Provides 24x7 primary and/or secondary support for one or more applications.
• Supports SDLC phases with required documentation and estimates.
• Executes design, development, and implementation phases with senior staff review.
• May lead small projects as Technical Lead; works on cross-functional teams.
• Maintains knowledge of business areas relevant to projects and applications.
