Job summary

ESC Region 11 is seeking a Systems Administrator in White Settlement, TX to design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure for internal and external environments. You will manage Windows and Linux servers, virtualization, hosting, endpoint management, and backup/recovery, while proactively resolving issues and delivering secure, modern IT services.

The role requires strong administration skills across mixed platforms, scripting for process improvements, and the ability to plan and execute

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• Relevant industry certifications in Microsoft, virtualization, Linux, cloud or related infrastructure technologies preferred
• Strong knowledge of systems administration and infrastructure technologies in complex, mixed-platform environments.
• Experience administering Windows Server environments and supporting technologies (DNS, DHCP, IIS, PowerShell, PKI).
• Experience with Linux server administration.
• Familiarity with cloud identity and management technologies (Entra ID, Intune).
• Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware or similar).
• Familiarity with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery technologies.
• Familiarity with web hosting (IIS, Apache).
• Experience with scripting/automation to improve processes.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code and APIs (Gitlab).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies and adapt.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, testing, and issue resolution for hardware, software, and upgrades.
• Administer and support server environments, cloud services, virtualization platforms, and related infrastructure.
• Implement and maintain system configurations and perform systems maintenance.
• Investigate complex technical problems and identify solutions.
• Monitor and analyze system utilization; recommend improvements.
• Support and oversee system and network security measures.
• Plan and execute technology projects and communicate status with stakeholders.
• Develop and implement backup procedures and data restoration.
• Support web hosting infrastructure and application deployment.
• Maintain client networks and systems documentation.
• Assist in disaster recovery plan development and implementation.
• Coordinate with vendors for product support.
• Develop and maintain network design and configuration documentation.
• Collaborate with end users to identify needs and resolve problems.
