Job summary

Bering-Alaka'ina Holdings, LLC is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator to support government customers at Kekaha, Hawai'i. You will administer Windows Server environments, manage AD/DNS/DHCP/GPOs, and ensure RMF and STIG compliance in classified and unclassified networks.

You will patch, harden, and remediate vulnerabilities, develop PowerShell automation, support VMware/Hyper-V, and assist with ATO/POA&M efforts and disaster recovery planning.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or HS diploma validated with 4+ years in System Admin/IT.
• DOD 8570.1M IAT Level II certification required (subject to policy changes).
• One of the listed OS certifications must be obtained prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments across Navy networks.
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and GPOs across multiple domains.
• Implement RMF security controls and ensure DISA STIGs compliance.
• Apply patches and updates per DoW and Navy policies.
• Manage automated installation methods and system imaging (SCCM, VMware, Nutanix).
• Perform hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation with ACAS, ESS, SCAP.
• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate admin tasks.
• Support virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and lifecycle management.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on ATO/POA&M and audit readiness.
• Maintain system docs, baselines, and SOPs.
• Participate in CCBs and CMBs; assist with incident response and forensic analysis.
• Support backup and DR with Veeam, Commvault.

Job description

Bering-Alaka'ina Holdings (BAH) is looking for a Systems Administrator (Windows). The position will support our government customer located in Kekaha, Hawai'i.

Provides Windows system administration for all Clients and Servers connected to the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) classified and unclassified networks. Deploys Cyber Security mandated system upgrades, system patches, and system security lockdown requirements. Performs system wide troubleshooting and problem resolution in a live mission environment.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Administer and maintain Microsoft Windows Server environments in classified and unclassified environments across Navy networks.
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects across multiple domains and enclaves.
• Implement and maintain RMF security controls and ensure systems are compliant with DISA STIGs and DoW cybersecurity policies.
• Apply and manage patches and updates across all Microsoft systems in accordance with DoW and Navy patch management policies.
• Manage automated installation methods and system imaging (e.g. SCCM, VMare, Nutanix)
• Perform system hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation using tools such as ACAS, ESS, and SCAP.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation of administrative tasks and system configuration.
• Support virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and manage virtual infrastructure lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to support ATO packages, POA&Ms, and audit readiness.
• Maintain system documentation, configuration baselines, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Participate in Change Control Boards (CCBs) and Configuration Management Boards (CMBs).
• Assist with incident response, forensic analysis, and system recovery efforts.
• Support backup and disaster recovery strategies using enterprise tools (e.g.,Veeam, Commvault).

Additional Responsibilities:

• General office environment with site visits as well as periodic "at sea" duty to support the PMRF's Mobile at Sea Sensor system (MATSS)
• Candidate must be capable of working in a team environment and participate in technical and system administrative activities throughout project life cycles.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Associates degree or HS diploma/GED and at least four (4) years of System Administration/IT experience.
• DOD 8570.1M IAT Level II (subject to change based on industry, DoD, or local policy requirements)
• One of the following OS Certifications required prior to start (subject to change based on industry, DoD or local policy requirements)
  • Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104 exam)
  • Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate (AZ-800 & AZ-801 exams)

(Advance certifications may be substituted for a degree or experience.)

(Years of directly related work experience may be substituted for a degree.)

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Secret security clearance is required with T5 or equivalent (SSBI) investigation level. (Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.)
