Abbott seeks a Systems Administrator Unix - D to support on-premises infrastructure and applications with deep Linux expertise. You will work closely with development, cybersecurity, networking, and operations teams to improve reliability, deployment efficiency, and platform resilience.

The role requires governance, documentation, and an automation mindset, with on-call readiness and strong collaboration to maintain critical systems onsite in St. Paul, MN.

Qualifikationen

Title: Systems Administrator Unix - D

Location: St. Paul, MN

Shifts: 8am - 6pm

Summary:

The Integration Engineer will support On-premises infrastructure and applications and needs to have deep Linux administration expertise, strong documentation and a reliability-first mindset. The candidate will closely interact with application development, cybersecurity, networking, and operations teams to improve product and development environment reliability, deployment efficiency, and platform resilience.

Required Skills:

• Perform Linux OS provisioning, patching, upgrades, kernel updates, and lifecycle management.
• Dependency Diagram, Data-flow diagrams, sequence diagrams
• Monitoring to include Syslog, Splunk, ELK
• Network filers- NFSv4 and Kerberos based ACL for file shares and network storage devices
• DB Backups and config.
• Virtualization expertise to include Proxmox and RedHat virt-who

Nice to have Skills:

• Nagios / Zabbix /Grafana - Develop dashboards, alerts, and operational runbooks.
• CIFS and SMB and network mounting of folders across windows and Linux
• DNS. DHCP, TCP/IP Networking Administer, maintain, and optimize RHEL environments
• GPU passthrough on virtual machines to allow GPU specific applications
• Perforce, Git
• Support audit, compliance, and governance requirements.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to address risks and maintain security baselines.
• Participate in an on-call schedule and respond to infrastructure related incidents and service disruptions.

Soft Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication – Documentation and diagrams (preferred)
• Continuous improvement and automation mindset with root-cause remediation
• Ability to follow documentation and record steps for validation
• Excellent team player

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (experience 3 or more yrs).Willing to consider experience in lieu of a degree.
