Job summary

The Systems Administrator position at TARC, based at UNION STATION in Louisville, KY, is a full-time role focused on ensuring the stability, security, and performance of the district’s technology infrastructure.

You will manage servers, networks, operating systems, and core business applications; monitor performance, perform routine maintenance, and support end users. The role includes on-call duties and cross-functional collaboration to enhance system reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a closely related field.
• Three (3) years of experience administering and supporting virtualized server/desktop environments and enterprise apps across cloud and on-premises platforms.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, and maintain operating systems, virtual servers, and VDI environments to ensure reliable performance.
• Install, configure, and support computer systems, virtual machines, Microsoft 365 applications, and related infrastructure.
• Manage and support software across the organization, including cloud-hosted and on-premises apps, ensuring proper access and updates.
• Manage user accounts, roles, and permissions across systems with proper security controls.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and application issues; escalate to vendors when necessary.
• Implement and maintain group policies, backups, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Support voice and data communication systems and perform network troubleshooting and configuration.
• Evaluate new technologies and assist with implementing approved solutions.
• Assist with IT procurement, asset management, and coordination of technology purchases.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and provide end-user training as needed.
• Participate in the on-call rotation for after-hours support.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
