Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) in New York City seeks a System Administrator (Levels 1–5) to support server hardware, OS software, and SAN environments. The role covers installation, maintenance, and upgrades across multiple levels with escalating responsibilities.

The position is based at 2 Broadway, NY, with standard hours 9:00 am–5:30 pm and possible as needed. This EB role is represented by the TCU.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting server hardware and storage networks.
• Ability to troubleshoot both remote and on-site technical issues using standard tools.
• Ability to read schematics and manuals for supported equipment and software.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Must be able to move and lift up to 25lbs of equipment.

Responsabilités

• Install, configure and troubleshoot complex server/hardware and storage solutions to meet availability targets.
• Configure servers for application, database, domain controllers, web servers, and storage environments.
• Collaborate with DBAs, network admins, help desk staff and IT resources to coordinate requirements and resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate IT asset documentation per policy and procedure.
• Evaluate new products and technologies.
