Job summary

Information Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Systems Administrator II to support the DDJT core infrastructure and data center in Suffolk, VA. The role is 100% onsite and involves maintaining servers, databases, and network systems while ensuring secure, reliable operations.

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree or 5 years of related experience, plus at least one database skill. Security+ or equivalent certifications are preferred; a valid SECRET clearance is required for this

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field or 5 years of equivalent experience.
• Experience with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, or SQL).
• Strong troubleshooting and system administration skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server and desktop operating systems and databases.
• Monitor server and network systems and facilities.
• Direct testing and analysis of system elements and networks.
• Troubleshoot system-related problems and install hardware/software as needed.
• Perform backups, database administration and file recovery.
• Plan capacity and optimize resource utilization.
• Assist users.

Job description

Information Systems Solutions (ISS) is looking for a Systems Administrator II to support the JS J7 Joint Training DevSecOps pipeline core infrastructure and data center in Suffolk, VA. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the Deputy Directorate, Joint Training (DDJT). This position is 100% onsite. Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining server and desktop operating systems, databases, and other software applications. Responsible for supervising the monitoring of server and network systems and facilities.
• Ensures high-quality transmission on network.
• Directs testing and analysis of all system elements including communication networks, associated hardware devices, software, power, communications, lines, modems and terminals.
• Troubleshoot system-related problems. Installs hardware and software, as needed.
• Performs backups, database administration and file recovery.
• Optimizes system operation and resource utilization and performs system-capacity analysis and planning.
• Assists users.

Requirements Clearance Level Secret clearance Certifications (IAT Level II) One of the following:

• Security+ CE
• GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
• Security Certified Network Professional (SCNP)
• System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

Preferred Certifications

• RHCSA Red Hat Certified System Administrator
• RHCDS Red Hat Certified Data Center Specialist

Required Skills
