Job summary

Information Systems Solutions, Inc (ISS) seeks a Systems Administrator II to support the J7 Joint Training pipeline core infra and data center in Suffolk, VA. The role is onsite, reporting to the Deputy Directorate, Joint Training (DDJT).

Responsibilities include installing and maintaining servers, supervising network monitoring, ensuring reliable transmissions, testing system elements, performing backups, and assisting users.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, or 5 years of equivalent experience.
• Active Secret clearance is required.
• IAT Level II certifications: Security+ CE, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, RHCSA or RHCDS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server and desktop operating systems, databases, and other software applications.
• Supervise monitoring of server and network systems and facilities.
• Ensure high-quality transmission on the network.
• Direct testing and analysis of system elements including networks, hardware, software and power.
• Troubleshoot system-related problems and install hardware/software as needed.
• Perform backups, database administration and file recovery.
• Optimize system operation, resource utilization and capacity planning.
• Assist users.

Education

Information Systems Solutions (ISS) is looking for a Systems Administrator II to support the JS J7 Joint Training DevSecOps pipeline core infrastructure and data center in Suffolk, VA. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the Deputy Directorate, Joint Training (DDJT).

This position is 100% onsite.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining server and desktop operating systems, databases, and other software applications. Responsible for supervising the monitoring of server and network systems and facilities.

Ensures high-quality transmission on network.

Directs testing and analysis of all system elements including communication networks, associated hardware devices, software, power, communications, lines, modems and terminals.

Troubleshoot system-related problems. Installs hardware and software, as needed.

Performs backups, database administration and file recovery.

Optimizes system operation and resource utilization and performs system-capacity analysis and planning.

Assists users.
