Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is hiring a System Administrator (Systems) III to lead support for VMware, Storage, and appliance-based systems in a multi-platform environment. You will own backup/restore, patch management, and incident-response coordination with Cyber Security Specialists.

You will drive change management, vendor coordination for hardware/software upgrades, and maintain meticulous inventory records while ensuring security baselines and on-call coverage as required.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen required; must pass federal background investigation and obtain a Public Trust.

Responsibilities

• Lead operating system installation, configuration, monitoring, and support for VMware, storage, and appliance-based systems.
• Provide end-user support during core hours and on-call on weekends; assist Cyber Security Specialists during incident responses.
• Spearhead change management procedures and coordinate with the Change Advisory Board.
• Troubleshoot hardware issues and coordinate repairs with vendors; assess server hardware/software requirements.
• Hardening servers to meet security baselines; maintain patch levels; assist during incidents.
• Maintain inventory records for servers and related equipment; develop standard procedures for recurring tasks.
• Lead backup and restore support, monitor backup health, and coordinate restores when needed.
