Job summary

Utah Tech University is seeking a Systems Administrator to support identity and access management, Exchange/M365 services, and a Kubernetes-based infrastructure. You will design secure, resilient systems, assist with disaster recovery, and provide technical leadership across campus IT teams.

The role emphasizes modern infrastructure, patch management across Windows, Linux, and Proxmox, and collaboration with developers and campus departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of coursework and experience.
• Experience with identity and access management and SSO/federation protocols.
• Strong Linux, Windows Server, Proxmox knowledge and problem solving.
• Experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL) and open-source solutions.
• Scripting in PowerShell or Python and familiarity with web servers.

Responsibilities

• Administer AD/Entra ID lifecycle, provisioning, deprovisioning, and SSO.
• Manage Exchange and M365 mail flow, licensing, and mailboxes.
• Build and maintain Kubernetes environment for apps and development.
• Assess risk, implement security measures, and manage backups and DR plans.
• Provide technical leadership and support across campus IT staff.
• Maintain core infrastructure including virtualization, load balancing, storage.
• Oversee data center operations and documentation.
