Job summary

Carolina Biological in Burlington, NC is seeking a Systems Administrator to be the primary support for remote and on-site production and office users. You will help maintain the server and storage infrastructure, ensure power protection, backup/restore, and disaster recovery, and travel between locations as needed.

This role requires a college degree in information technology and at least 2 years of experience supporting a company computer infrastructure.

Qualifications

• College degree in an IT-related field required (4-year preferred).
• 2+ years experience supporting a company computer infrastructure.
• Skilled with Microsoft operating systems, desktop/email, and server.
• Office 365, Citrix, and VMware preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support IT infrastructure and users across multiple locations, traveling between facilities as needed.
• Support PC/laptop hardware and software.
• Support physical and virtual servers.
• Ensure servers and storage devices have adequate power protection.
• Maintain an inventory of PC, laptop, and server hardware and software.
• Provide secondary support for network administration.
• Support Carolina's help desk by managing an assigned caseload and providing technical support.
• Manage Active Directory as it relates to hardware, users, groups, and policies.
• Support Carolina's email systems.
• Stay current on emerging technologies and recommend training opportunities to maintain technical skills.
• Perform project-related duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
