Job summary

Nightwing is expanding our System Administration team in Warrenton, VA, seeking a seasoned System Administrator/Cloud Engineer to advance our digitization infrastructure. You will join a skilled team supporting cloud operations in an enterprise setting, driving automation, security, and efficient system management.

You will apply hands-on AWS and Linux expertise, manage databases (RDS/MySQL/Oracle), and implement secure, federated identity and RBAC controls.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with AWS and Linux in production.
• Experience patching and maintaining databases including RDS, MySQL, Oracle.
• Knowledge of Federated Identity, RBAC, authentication & authorization.
• Understanding of secure-cloud configuration and cloud security technologies (VPC, Security Groups, CloudTrail, AWS Config).
• Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation).
• Experience with security such as NGFW, WAF, SIEM, endpoint security.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment.
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT related field or equivalent work experience.
• Experience scripting.
• Ability to monitor and troubleshoot enterprise workflow applications and patching tasks.
• Experience creating and managing virtual infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Hyper‑V, VMware).

Nightwing is expanding our System Administration team. We are seeking a highly skilled System Administrator/Cloud Engineer to enhance our existing technical team supporting the advancement of Digitization technologies in Warrenton, VA.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, innovative, cloud engineer to join in and contribute to a team environment. The candidate will be part of a team that supports the cloud infrastructure for an enterprise environment. This position requires a broad knowledge of system administration, knowledge of automation technologies, and scripting. This position also requires a knowledge of security and accreditation practices and procedures the ability to work with several enterprise resources and teams in the operation of an enterprise digitization infrastructure.

Mandatory Skills:

• Must have hands-on experience with AWS and Linux in a production environment.
• Experience patching and maintaining system’s databases, to include RDS, MySQL, and Oracle
• Proven experience troubleshooting and solving technical problems
• Knowledge of Federated Identity, RBAC, authentication & authorization solution, etc.
• Understanding of secure-cloud configuration, (e.g., CloudTrail, AWS Config), cloud-security technologies (e.g., VPC, Security Groups) and
• Access Control (IAM).
• Experience with configuration management (e.g., Puppet, Chef, Ansible, CloudFormation, etc.)
• Experience with security, such as NGFW, WAF, SIEM, endpoint security.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment
• Bachelor’s Degree in IT related field or equivalency in related work experience
• Demonstrated on-the-job experience working and solving technical problems independently as a system administrator.
• Experience using a scripting language.
• Demonstrated ability to monitor and troubleshoot enterprise workflow applications, to include: installing, starting, and stopping background
• processes, analyzing log and event files, and patching and troubleshooting.
• Demonstrated ability creating and managing a virtual infrastructure, such as AWS, Azure, Hyper‑V, or VMWare.

Salary & Benefits

The salary associated with this position ($99,000-$206,000) is commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience, and demonstrated level of expertise. Compensation will be determined based on these factors to ensure alignment with skills, responsibilities, and market standards.
