Job summary

Nightwing is seeking Cloud Platform Engineers to operate, develop, and improve cloud infrastructure in AWS GovCloud and Azure. You will support 20+ applications across three networks with strong emphasis on secure, scalable environments.

Responsibilities include automation, infrastructure as code, and leading technical projects while following disaster recovery and security best practices. U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in a related engineering field; OR
• 6additional years of Engineering, Computer or Information Science applicable professional experience in lieu of degree.
• 6+ years IT experience in operations, security, or development; DevOps familiarity.
• Experience with Linux system administration (4+ years).
• Experience with Windows system administration.
• Experience running services in AWS or another cloud (Azure).
• AWS resources architecture and troubleshooting of load balancers, autoscaling, security groups.
• Familiarity with IaC automation and configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, Packer, Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience with source code management (Git, GitLab, Bitbucket).
• Strong communication, accountability, and U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Use automation to provision and configure servers, services, applications, and security controls (Ansible roles, Terraform modules, Packer, GitLab CI/CD, AWS CLI).
• Set up and maintain applications in AWS GovCloud and commercial; manage Dev/Production environments.
• Manage AWS resources (VPCs, EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, Control Tower).
• Lead technical projects with team members and inter-departmental groups to plan and deliver features.
• Follow disaster recovery and business continuity best practices in design.
• Manage Linux and Windows servers with logging, monitoring and maintenance.
• Provide IT operations support for security monitoring, compliance, auditing tools.

NightwingInformation Technology is seeking Cloud Platform Engineers to help operate, develop, and improve our network and server/application infrastructure in AWS GovCloud and Azure. You’ll work in a rapidly changing, fastpaced environment supporting 20+ applications across three distinct networks, each with its own data protection, connectivity, and support model. In this role, you will build secure, scalable, and costoptimized cloud environments that empower our development and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Use and develop automation (Ansible roles,Terraformmodules, Packer, GitLab CI/CD pipelines, AWS CLI) to provision and configure servers, services, applications, and security controls.

• Setup and maintain applications in AWS GovCloudand commercial, utilizing Dev/Production environments

• Manage AWS specific resources much as VPCs, EC2, ECS, EKS, S3,Control Tower,and LZA

• Lead technical projects,workingwith team members and inter-departmental groups toplan,execute, and deliver new features or capabilities

• Follow best practices for disaster recovery/business continuity in server, network, and security design

• Manage Linux and Windowsservers, following best practicesfor logging, monitoring, and system maintenance

• Provide expertiseand supportfor IT Operational management of security monitoring,compliance, andauditingtools

Required Skills and Experience

• 6 Years ofExperiencein IT(Operations,Security, or Development), or DevOps

• 4+ Years of experiencewith Linux System Administration

• Familiar with Windows System Administration

• 1+ Years of experience with networking (TCP/IP,switching,routers,firewalls,etc)

• 1+Years of experience running services withinAWSoranother cloud provider (Azure,etc)

• Architecting new servicesusingAWS resources

• Troubleshootingresources(Load balancers, Autoscaling groups, security groups)

• Familiarity withIACautomationand configuration managementtoolsto manage and deploy servers and applications(Ansible,Terraform,Cloudformation,Packer,Python,Bash,Powershell,etc)

• Familiarity with source code management ofany code/scripts/documentation used forautomation(git, GitLab,BitBucket)

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Strong sense of accountability tomeet work deadlines and support sprint goals

• Must be a U.S Citizen

Desired Skills and Experiences

• Experience developing automated solutionsutilizingdocker-composeand Helm

• Familiarity with multi-account AWS architecture (Organizations, Control Tower)

• Familiarity withwithmulti-accountMicrosoft Azure(Sovereign Cloud Architecture)

• Experience working with containerized applications using Docker and/or Kubernetes

• ExperiencedevelopingCI/CD pipelinesfor deliveryand testingof services/applications

• Experience within AWS GovCloud

• Professional Certifications such as: AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Developer, Linux+, Security+, CCNA

• Required Education

Salary & Benefits

The salary associated with this position ($77,000–$163,000) is commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications, years of relevant experience and demonstrated level of expertise. Compensation will be determined based on these factors to ensure alignment with skills, responsibilities, and market standards.
