Job summary

SageCor Solutions LLC in Maryland seeks a systems engineer for Linux‑based HPC, data analytics, and full lifecycle system engineering. You will work across Linux distributions, storage fabrics, and HPC networking to support national‑level projects and cutting‑edge IT environments.

Requirements: 5 years’ experience with BS or 10 years IAT II. TS/SCI with Polygraph is required. Familiarity with InfiniBand, Lustre, Slurm, Jira/Confluence, and automation tools (Bash, Ansible) is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5 YOE & B.S. or 10 YOE – IAT II
• Strictly Linux environments (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, SLES, Ubuntu)
• OS install, filesystem configuration, TCP/IP networking, troubleshooting
• Familiarity with HPC architecture and high-speed networks (InfiniBand, Slingshot)
• Experience with Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Slurm, git, Salt, Ansible
• Storage fabrics focus: Lustre, DDN Exascaler; storage networking knowledge
• Routing/switching: Cisco, Juniper; Arista emerging; proactive learning

Serving Maryland and the Greater Washington D.C. area, SageCor Solutions (SageCor) is a growing company bringing complete engineering services and true full lifecycle System Engineering services to areas requiring (or desiring) nationally‑recognized expertise in high performance computing, large data analytics and cutting edge information technologies.

Active TS/SCI w/ Polygraph required.

Required Experience:

5 YOE & B.S. or 10 YOE – IAT II

Required Skills:

• Strictly Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, SLES, Ubuntu [new])
• OS install, file system configuration, TCP/IP networking, configuration, operating system and application troubleshooting, BASH scripting, software compilation and install
• Understanding of HPC architecture, knowledge about high-speed networks such as InfiniBand, Slingshot
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Grafana, Prometheus, Nagios, Slurm, git, Salt, Ansible
• Good troubleshooting skills – each system is slightly different and there's no "one fix" for a particular problem
• Storage Fabric/Networking (focus areas in addition to above):
  • Lustre file system configuration and administration, troubleshooting knowledge
  • Experience with DDN Exascaler file system appliances
  • TCP/IP networking knowledge, specifically storage fabrics
• Routers/switches: Cisco and Juniper - Arista also starting to be incorporated
  • Genuine curiosity/proactive effort to learn/grow in what comes next: E1000s, ESNs, DAOS, Weka
  • Experience with benchmarking tools (e.g. IOR, iperf, FIO, lnet_selftest)
