Job summary

Goosehead Insurance Agency LLC is seeking an Systems Administrator to maintain and optimize our enterprise infrastructure, including servers, cloud services, virtualization, identity management, storage, and backup solutions.

You will ensure system availability, performance, and security while supporting on-going initiatives and cross-functional collaboration across teams and vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of enterprise infrastructure administration.
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with virtualization (VMware vSphere or Hyper-V).
• Experience with Azure and cloud services.
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring solutions.
• Scripting in PowerShell; automation experience preferred.
• Industry certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

The Systems Administrator is a technical professional responsible for supporting and maintaining enterprise infrastructure systems that enable secure, reliable, and efficient business operations. This role manages core technologies including servers, cloud platforms, identity services, virtualization, storage, and backup systems while ensuring system availability, performance, and security. The position requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to support infrastructure initiatives and operational objectives. The Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and optimization of the organization's infrastructure environment, including servers, cloud services, virtualization platforms, identity management systems, storage, and backup solutions. This role ensures the reliability, availability, and security of critical business systems through proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, automation, and ongoing system improvements. The Infrastructure Systems Administrator collaborates with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to support operational needs, technology initiatives, and business objectives while maintaining compliance with organizational standards and security requirements.

Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration and enterprise infrastructure technologies.
• Experience with Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft 365, and Azure administration.
• Knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere and Hyper-V.
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
• Understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring, system performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, vulnerability management, and access controls.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience administering enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Experience supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Entra ID environments.
• Experience managing virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and infrastructure monitoring solutions.
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and resolving complex infrastructure and systems issues.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and process automation preferred.
• Industry certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate, VMware VCP, CompTIA Server+, Security+, or equivalent certifications are preferred.
