Job summary

Diamondback Energy seeks a Systems Administrator I to support the enterprise infrastructure, focusing on reliability, security, and performance across servers, identity services, and cloud platforms.

You will troubleshoot issues, assist with upgrades and automation, and collaborate with IT teams to enable business initiatives while documenting configurations and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience supporting Windows Server and Enterprise Linux operating systems.
• Experience administering Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, or similar infrastructure services.
• Basic understanding of virtualization, cloud technologies, backup and recovery, and networking concepts.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize work, adapt to changing business needs, and work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Administer, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server and Enterprise Linux environments.
• Support core infrastructure services including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and PKI.
• Assist with virtualization, storage, backup, and recovery solutions.
• Support Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 technologies.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security; identify and resolve infrastructure issues.
• Assist with infrastructure upgrades, deployments, patching, and lifecycle management.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system configurations.
• Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to support business applications and technology initiatives.
• Assist with automation and operational improvements using PowerShell.
• Provide technical support and cross-functional troubleshooting across the IT organization as needed.

Job description

The Systems Administrator I provides operational support for Diamondback’s enterprise infrastructure environment, including servers, identity services, cloud platforms, and related technologies. This role is responsible for maintaining system reliability, security, and performance while supporting infrastructure projects, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with IT teams to meet business needs.

Job Responsibilities:

Include but are not limited to

• Administer, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server and Enterprise Linux environments
• Support core infrastructure services including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
• Assist with the administration and maintenance of virtualization, storage, backup, and recovery solutions
• Support Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and related cloud technologies
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security while identifying and resolving infrastructure issues
• Assist with infrastructure upgrades, deployments, patching, and system lifecycle management activities
• Create and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system configurations
• Collaborate with IT teams and vendors to support business applications and technology initiatives
• Assist with automation and operational improvements using scripting tools such as PowerShell
• Provide technical support and cross-functional troubleshooting assistance across the IT organization as needed

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience supporting Windows Server and Enterprise Linux operating systems
• Experience administering Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, or similar infrastructure services
• Basic understanding of virtualization, cloud technologies, backup and recovery, and networking concepts
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize work, adapt to changing business needs, and work both independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 administration
• 1+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, systems administration, or a related technical role
• Experience with PowerShell or other infrastructure automation tools
• Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements, ITIL practices, and service delivery concepts
• Experience in the oil and gas industry
