Job summary

Bowhead is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. The role installs, configures, and troubleshoots networks, provides help desk support, and assists with database and cross‑platform services.

Candidates should have at least two years in IT, DoD C4ISR exposure, a CompTIA Security+ (IAT II) certification, and experience with Exchange, Workflow, Windows Server 2003/2008, XP/Vista/7, and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with ongoing IT training and/or certs.
• Minimum of two years’ IT experience; DoD C4ISR experience preferred.
• Must have CompTIA Security+ and DoD IA training (IAT Level II).
• Knowledge of Exchange, WorkFlow, and Microsoft Office suite.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and external contacts.
• Experience managing networks and servers including topology, standards, and protocols; familiarity with Windows XP/Vista/7 and Server 2003/2008.

Responsibilities

• Writes problem reports and performs root-cause analysis with configuration recommendations.
• Installs, upgrades, and administers operating systems and applications in multi-user environments.

Overview

Bowhead seeks a Systems Administrator to join our Team at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. The Systems Administrator installs, configures and troubleshoots computer networks and associated assemblies and provides help desk technical assistance and training to system users. The Systems Administrator assists with basic configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, analysis and repair of databases, switches, networks, video systems, and long-haul communications.

Targeted salary is $69,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the design, installation and administration of local networks using multiple protocols and various computer systems.
• Writes problem reports, assists with root cause analysis and recommendations for configuration and process changes.
• Installs, upgrades and administers operating systems and application software in multi-user client/server environments, including Windows NT.
• Provides users with network technical support by responding to IT helpdesk issues.
• Maintain cross platform inter-connectivity for network services, authentication services, E-mail services and Web services.
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

Qualifications

• High School diploma augmented by ongoing technical training and/or certification programs specific to hardware/software tools utilized at this location is required.
• Minimum of two (2) or more years’ experience in the field. Experience should include one (1) year DoD operational Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) solutions.
• Must possess Comp TIA Security+ Certification. Trained in information assurance to DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II.
• Possess a good understanding of network software (Exchange, WorkFlow, etc.) as well as the Microsoft Office Professional suite of software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Possess a valid state issued driver’s license.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
• Possess demonstrated skills, knowledge, and technical competence in the management of networks, both hardware and software. This must include network topology, standards, and protocols. Possess knowledge and hands-on experience administering Windows XP, Vista, and 7 workstations as well as Server 2003 and/or 2008.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
• SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret/SCI clearance at this location.

Targeted salary is $69,000 annually based on qualifications and experience.
