Job summary

Bowhead seeks a Systems Administrator to join our Team at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. The Systems Administrator installs, configures and troubleshoots computer networks and associated assemblies and provides help desk technical assistance and training to system users.

The role includes basic configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting and repair of databases, switches, networks and long-haul communications, with DoD C4ISR experience preferred. Security clearance required.

Qualifications

  • Security clearance at Top Secret/SCI is required.
  • Minimum 2 years of field experience with DoD C4ISR solutions.
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification required and relevant technical training.

  • Participates in design, installation and administration of local networks.
  • Writes problem reports and recommends configuration and process changes.
  • Installs and administers operating systems and application software in multi-user environments.
  • Provides network support by responding to helpdesk issues, and maintains cross-platform connectivity.

Overview

Bowhead seeks a Systems Administrator to join our Team at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. The Systems Administrator installs, configures and troubleshoots computer networks and associated assemblies and provides help desk technical assistance and training to system users. The Systems Administrator assists with basic configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, analysis and repair of databases, switches, networks, video systems, and long-haul communications.

Responsibilities
  • Participates in the design, installation and administration of local networks using multiple protocols and various computer systems.
  • Writes problem reports, assists with root cause analysis and recommendations for configuration and process changes.
  • Installs, upgrades and administers operating systems and application software in multi-user client/server environments, including Windows NT.
  • Provides users with network technical support by responding to IT helpdesk issues.
  • Maintain cross platform inter-connectivity for network services, authentication services, E-mail services and Web services.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School diploma augmented by ongoing technical training and/or certification programs specific to hardware/software tools utilized at this location is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) or more years’ experience in the field. Experience should include one (1) year DoD operational Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) solutions.
  • Must possess Comp TIA Security+ Certification. Trained in information assurance to DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II.
  • Possess a good understanding of network software (Exchange, WorkFlow, etc.) as well as the Microsoft Office Professional suite of software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Possess a valid state issued driver’s license.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  • Possess demonstrated skills, knowledge, and technical competence in the management of networks, both hardware and software. This must include network topology, standards, and protocols. Possess knowledge and hands‑on experience administering Windows XP, Vista, and 7 workstations as well as Server 2003 and/or 2008.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret/SCI clearance at this location.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
