Job summary

DHI-WFS is seeking a systems administrator to maintain multi-user computer systems and coordinate with network teams. You will set up admin and service accounts, document systems, tune performance, and install software, allocating storage as needed.

You will interact with users, evaluate vendor products, and make hardware/software recommendations while coordinating installations. Springfield-based role requiring a hands-on, detail-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Experience executing required system checks on servers/workstations.
• Familiar with Windows patching, SDATs, server/workstation maintenance.
• Experience performing backup procedures on servers.
• Willingness to work at the Springfield location.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system-wide software, and allocating mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

Mandatory Skills

• Experience executing required system checks on operational, test, and development servers and workstations
• Familiar with supporting Windows operating systems (installing patches, SDATs), server maintenance, workstation maintenance, and peripheral equipment
• Some experience or equivalent knowledge executing back-up procedures on servers
• Must be willing to work at the Springfield location

Desired Skills

• Experience or equivalent knowledge/training in UNIX, Linux, networks, firewalls, and routers
• Experience working with Active Directory or Veritas
• Experience in support of DCID 6/3 and/or ICD 509 certification of servers
• Experience with IIS
• Experience with SQL Server database administration
• Experience with PowerShell and other industry scripting languages
• Documented experience and training with VERITAS products
• Experience with networks, firewalls, and switches
