Job summary

Bowhead seeks a Systems Administrator to join our Team at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. The role installs, configures and troubleshoots computer networks and provides help desk support and training to users.

You will assist with configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting and repair of databases, switches and long‑haul communications. Requirements include a High School diploma with ongoing tech training, 2+ years in the field with DoD C4ISR exposure, and CompTIA Security+ plus DoD

Qualifications

• High School diploma augmented by ongoing technical training and/or certification programs.
• Minimum of two (2) years' experience in the field with DoD C4ISR exposure.
• Must possess CompTIA Security+ Certification and DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II training.

Job description

Bowhead seeks a Systems Administrator to join our Team at Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. The Systems Administrator installs, configures and troubleshoots computer networks and associated assemblies and provides help desk technical assistance and training to system users. The Systems Administrator assists with basic configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, analysis and repair of databases, switches, networks, video systems, and long-haul communications.

Responsibilities & Requirements

• Participates in the design, installation and administration of local networks using multiple protocols and various computer systems.
• Writes problem reports, assists with root cause analysis and recommendations for configuration and process changes.
• Installs, upgrades and administers operating systems and application software in multi-user client/server environments, including Windows NT.
• Provides users with network technical support by responding to IT helpdesk issues.
• Maintain cross platform inter-connectivity for network services, authentication services, E-mail services and Web services.
• Other duties as assigned
• High School diploma augmented by ongoing technical training and/or certification programs specific to hardware/software tools utilized at this location is required.
• Minimum of two (2) or more years' experience in the field. Experience should include one (1) year DoD operational Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) solutions.
• Must possess Comp TIA Security+ Certification. Trained in information assurance to DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II.
• Possess a good understanding of network software (Exchange, WorkFlow, etc.) as well as the Microsoft Office Professional suite of software (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Possess a valid state issued driver's license.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
• Possess demonstrated skills, knowledge, and technical competence in the management of networks, both hardware and software. This must include network topology, standards, and protocols. Possess knowledge and hands-on experience administering Windows XP, Vista, and 7 workstations as well as Server 2003 and/or 2008.
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Security Clearance Required

Must currently hold a security clearance at the Top Secret/SCI level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Top Secret/SCI clearance at this location.
