Job summary

Gfoat is seeking an IT professional to maintain and administer the City’s infrastructure, including physical and virtual servers. The role covers patching, backups, disaster recovery, and security compliance while supporting other departments and citizens.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 3+ years in related fields, and preferred certifications (MCSA, Linux+, RHSA). A Texas driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience with operating systems, networking, server virtualization, backup technologies, or related fields.
• MCSA, Linux+ or RHSA preferred.
• Must pass CJIS background check and FBI CJIS background check and drug screen.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License.

Job description

This position is responsible for maintaining and administering the City's infrastructure physical and virtual servers. This includes the maintenance, patching and back-up/restore of hardware, software, and other related systems; performing disaster recovery operations; systems security compliance; and replacing hardware components as needed. Other duties include providing support to other departments and interacting with other City employees and citizens. This position has no supervisory responsibilities but may be tasked to provide technical instruction on specific topics. Schedule is typically Monday through Friday but includes on-call and meeting coverage on a rotating basis.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience with operating systems, networking, server virtualization, backup technologies, or related fields. Additional years of experience are acceptable in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
• MCSA, Linux+ or RHSA preferred.
• Must be able to pass a standard background check and FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check and drug screen.
• Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License.
