Job summary

JFC Staffing Companies is seeking a mid-level Systems Administrator II to join a small infrastructure team in the Harrisburg, PA area. The role covers server and networking duties, Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 administration.

You will work hands-on with virtualization (VMware/Hyper‑V), PowerShell scripting, firewall and VPN tasks, DNS/DHCP, and network documentation. On-site initially, with up to 2 days/week hybrid after six months, direct W2 hire.

Qualifications

• Mid-level Systems Administration experience (not entry-level).
• Comfortable splitting work roughly 50/50 across server and networking.
• Strong foundation in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
• PowerShell skills (able to work independently, not just copy/paste).
• Virtualization experience (VMware, Hyper‑V, or similar).
• Networking requirements (must have): Firewall experience, VPN troubleshooting, TCP/IP basics, VLANs/subnets, DNS/DHCP in Windows.

Systems Administrator II (Mid-Level) | Harrisburg, PA (On-site ramp, then hybrid)

We’re hiring a mid-level Systems Administrator (Sys Admin II) to join a small infrastructure team in the Harrisburg, PA area. This position is open due to a recent resignation, and the team is looking for someone who can be a true “jack of all trades” across server and networking work.

This is a hands‑on Sys Admin role, not a project‑scoping/architect “engineer” position. You’ll be working alongside a small team, supporting day‑to‑day infrastructure needs and handling a mix of server, Microsoft 365, virtualization, and network/firewall responsibilities.

Compensation: $85,000 to $110,000 base salary (depending on experience). Type: Direct Hire (W2). Location: Harrisburg, PA area. Work arrangement: On‑site 100% for the first 6 months, then eligible for up to 2 days/week work from home. Direct W2 only.

What you’ll do

  • Switch/router troubleshooting (basic to intermediate).
  • VLAN/subnet familiarity and coordination of network changes.
  • DNS/DHCP troubleshooting and general network services support.
  • Network documentation updates (diagrams, configs, runbooks as needed).

What we’re looking for (Requirements)

  • Hands‑on experience supporting firewalls (rule management and troubleshooting).
  • Experience with VPNs (site‑to‑site and/or client VPN troubleshooting).
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, routing basics, and troubleshooting tools (ping, traceroute, nslookup, etc.).
  • Familiarity with VLANs/subnets and common office network layouts.
  • Comfort troubleshooting DNS/DHCP issues in a Windows environment.

Nice to have

• MSP or multi‑environment experience (helpful, but not required).
