Job summary

Soft Tech Consulting, Inc. is seeking a System Administrator to join a collaborative team and support delivery of project deliverables. The role focuses on managing Linux and Windows cloud environments, implementing security improvements, and maintaining enterprise services including Email, SSO, and DNS.

Candidate must be a US citizen with a Top Secret clearance. Onsite presence in Washington, DC is required with an option for one remote day per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years Windows Server administration, networking, and general system administration.
• 5+ years Linux (RHEL) experience including patching/maintenance.
• Experience with GitLab in team projects.
• 2+ years AWS cloud experience.
• Experience with Active Directory, ADFS, Kerberos, SAML.
• Intermediate Windows Server Administration and AD experience.
• Proficiency in shell scripting.

Responsibilities

• Manage Linux and Windows cloud environments with development/production resources.
• Design solutions to improve performance and security for Red Hat Linux servers; configure Email, SSO, DNS.
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and services.
• Troubleshoot issues via Service Desk and monitoring systems.
• Perform patch management across environments and monitor system performance.

Soft Tech Consulting is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual to fill the role of a Systems Administrator. The designated candidate will join a collaborative team environment, providing support necessary toward the successful delivery of the project deliverables, and provide effective communication to all levels of staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage a Linux and Windows based cloud environment, including virtual resources for applications in development and production.




• Design solutions to improve performance and security for the client’s Red Hat Linux servers and configure enterprise services such as Email, Single Sign-On (SSO) and DNS.




• Install, configure, and maintain Windows servers and services.




• Troubleshoot and resolve issues reported via Service Desk systems and automated monitoring is required.




• Perform patch management across all environments and monitor system performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in any related field.


• 5+ years experience with Windows Server administration, networking, and system administration background.


• 5+ years of experience with Linux operating systems (RHEL) including patching and maintenance


• Experience with leveraging version control systems on team-based projects (GitLab)


• 2+ years of experience with Amazon Cloud Services


• Experience with Active Directory (Windows AD, ADFS, Kerberos, and SAML)


• Experience with Gitlab (Intermediate)


• Experience with Microsoft Windows Server Administration (Intermediate)


• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) (Advanced)


• Experience with Active Directory (AD) (Intermediate)


• Experience with Shell Scripting (Intermediate)

PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to architect enterprise solutions including data, display, and information architecture


• Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and exposure to Agile or iterative SDLCs


• Comfortable working with automation tools by writing/modifying scripts for development, maintenance and system monitoring using Python and other scripting languages


• Experience deploying open-source and custom applications (Drupal, React, and NodeJS)


• Experience creating CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins


• Certification: AWS Solutions Architect - Associate
