Soft Tech Consulting Inc. is seeking a Business Analyst for a government client in Suitland, MD. The role focuses on analytical support, process improvement, and cross‑functional collaboration to ensure project success.

The ideal candidate will coordinate with client and IT staff, implement Scrum practices, and translate requirements into actionable plans while maintaining clear communication across all levels of staff.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Information Technology/Cyber Security or similar field.
• Minimum 2 years' experience.
• Experience with Scrum methodologies and supporting Scrum artifacts, events and sprints.
• Knowledge of SharePoint is a plus; Scrum Master training desired as a contingency.
• Basic understanding of Agile methodologies and business systems.

The candidate will provide analytical support and guidance for a government client. The designated candidate for this position will join a collaborative team environment, providing an external perspective on operations and necessary steps to maintain a successful project. They will use their professional experience to identify project needs and help the project to evolve as times and trends change. Business Analysts will coordinate with client and project leads and IT personnel to streamline processes and increase productivity. The Business Analyst will provide effective communication to all levels of staff for reporting system environment status. The place of performance for this contract is onsite in Suitland, MD.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with client leadership regarding requirements and be able to (along with the PM) act as a liaison between leadership and the team
• Define business systems, create outlines and workflow diagrams, and present plans for accomplishing tasks
• Help the team to function as a more cohesive unit through high energy and enthusiasm
• Facilitate/support Scrum activities.
• Think of the three C’s
• Collaboration – Discuss project requirements, needs and priorities with high-level client's leadership and ensure the team works together to complete task,
• Communication – Clearly communicate requirements with the team and make sure everyone understands the intent
• Coordination – Assist with coordinating efforts and tap into the proper talent on the team to ensure the project/task is completed on time
• Provide strategic planning, structure to the team, better integration of individual skills to projects and tasks, incremental feedback to promote progress, etc.
• Be the first-line supervisor for the Help Desk, and take those statistics and convert them to useful information for reports to the field. These reports track user data, Maritime Analytic Support System (MASS) user account numbers and trends, categories of support tickets, etc.
• Work with the development team to test functional components of the MASS system, tracking and testing bug fixes and reporting status in Teams meetings
• Assist with simple design functions, upload files and videos, and link sites to other sites.
• Assist the Tech Writer, if needed, to document any requirements and w ork with the Tech Writer to ensure timely submission of deliverables
• Perform Project Management support tasks, i.e., assist with compiling Monthly Progress Reports, Program Management Reviews to a wider client's audience, participating in meetings, etc.
• Collect and analyze helpdesk data, streamline operations
• Record and analyze helpdesk ticket metrics, track call volume, etc.…
• Manage future MASS Helpdesk SharePoint site, post videos, etc.…
• Be aware of MASS bug fixes and change request status
• Assist in preparing and submitting Monthly Status Reports (include metrics pertaining to invoicing, schedule, technical progress, deliverable status, risk information related to the task, and up to date WBS)
• Prepare Periodic Monthly Reviews for a wider client's audience
• Send system outage reports to the field (initial within two hours of outage and a final report within 24 hours of outage resolution).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Information Technology/Cyber Security or similar field.
• Minimum 2 years' experience.
• Must have experience with Scrum methodologies/processes and provide support for Scrum artifacts, events and sprints.
• Knowledge of SharePoint is a plus.
• Scrum Master training is highly desired and maybe required as a hiring contingency.
• Basic understanding/experience with Agile methodologies
• Familiarity with simple design functions, upload files and videos, and link sites to other sites.
• Have a basic understanding of defining business systems, creating outlines and workflow diagrams, and presenting plans for accomplishing tasks
• Familiar with Remedy IT Service Management System (nice to have, but not a deal-breaker).
• Have basic business acumen and data analysis skills.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with MS Office (specifically PowerPoint, Excel, Word) required.
• MS Project (highly desired).
• Superior presentation and negotiation skills.
• Strong management and organizational skills.
• Adaptable and capable of working in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to work independently with little to no oversight.
