Job summary

San Bernardino County is seeking a Systems Accountant II to establish and evaluate county-wide accounting systems, analyze functionality, and ensure security and controls. The role includes training end users and developing materials for ongoing support.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and at least two years of professional accounting experience with computerized systems. A CPA is desired; a CPA stipend of $750 annually is offered.

Qualifications

• Must possess a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics or a related field with 30 semester units in accounting.
• Two years of professional-level accounting experience with computerized accounting systems.
• Experience documenting requirements, functionality, controls, issues, and training materials.
• Experience within the last five years; end-user experience alone does not qualify.
• Substitution: 1 year of experience may substitute for 1 year of the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Establish, modify, and evaluate accounting systems with county-wide impact.
• Analyze system functionality and reviews, ensuring security and controls.
• Develop training materials and provide end-user training and technical assistance.
• Test and review system output; respond to accounting concept questions and fiscal interpretations.
• Perform cash flow and cost/benefit analysis as part of system evaluations.
