Semper Valens Solutions in San Antonio, TX is seeking a System Test Engineer to lead testing efforts for complex software systems. The role emphasizes manual and automated testing, including unit, integration, functional, and end-to-end tests to ensure system operability and project compliance.

Qualifications include a related bachelor's degree, 5 years in software development with DevSecOps and containerized environments, plus experience with Jira and Agile Test-Driven development.

• 5+ years of experience in the functional area with a related bachelor's degree; Master’s may substitute for 2 years of experience.
• 5 years of software development experience in object-oriented and scripted languages with tool suites related to DevSecOps, microservices and containers.
• Experience preparing, conducting, and documenting various systems tests and results to verify operability and compliance.
• 3 years of bug tracking experience (e.g., Jira) and testing web-based applications.
• 3 years of experience using Agile Test-Driven development and testing Restful interfaces from cloud environments.

System Test Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

Provides subject matter proficiency for work described in the task. Responsible for providing analytical skills to support process improvement, specialized studies, and definition of requirements.

Job Description:

• Typical duties include analysis, planning, developing test documents, developing procedures, performing various types of manual and automated software testing including, but not limited to, unit testing, integration testing, functional testing and end-to-end testing.
• Shall perform other technical and/or test-related duties as required.
• Requires expertise in specialty area.

Required Qualifications:

• 5 years of overall experience in the functional area. A bachelor's degree in related field required. Master's degree may substitute for 2 years of experience.
• 5 years of software development experience in object-oriented and scripted languages (see section 4.2) with the ability to apply several tool suites related to DevSecOps, microservices and containers
• Demonstrated recent and relevant experience in preparing, conducting, and documenting various systems tests and results to verify system operability and compliance with project standards and requirements.
• 3 years of experience with bug tracking software (e.g., Jira).
• 3 years of experience testing web-based applications.
• 3 years of experience using Agile Test-Driven development
• Practical experience testing and analyzing Restful interfaces and sending/receiving Restful commands.
• Practical experience developing in a cloud environment

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience integrating into DoD DevSecOps environments
