Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. in Panama City Beach, FL is seeking a Systems Technician III to install, maintain and troubleshoot information systems and related hardware, supporting end users and keeping systems running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years’ related experience (or an Associate’s with 3+ years), strong customer service, Windows OS and basic networking, and is comfortable going into the office five days a week.

Qualifications

• High School diploma with 5+ years of related experience or an Associate’s degree with 3+ years of related experience.
• Experience supporting end-user computing and customer support.
• Strong written and oral communication.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Experience with Windows Workstation OS and common applications (Office 365).
• Desktop/laptop and application support experience.
• Support for handheld devices (iOS and Android).
• Solid understanding of basic networking principles.
• Location: in-office Panama City, FL 5x a week.

Responsibilities

• Provides installation, maintenance and troubleshooting support of information systems and peripheral hardware.
• Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems using testing tools.
• Installs and configures applications and related hardware (desktops, servers, peripherals).
• Provides software and system troubleshooting and support.
• Provides technical support and training to end-users.
• Offers guidance and mentoring to less-experienced technicians.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology (desktop support).
• Participates in special projects as required.

HOW A SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN III WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Provides installation, maintenance and troubleshooting support of information systems applicationsand related peripheral hardware.
• Monitors and responds to hardware and software problems utilizing a variety of hardware and software testing tools and techniques.
• Installs and configures applications software and related hardware (such as desktops, servers, and related peripherals like printers, scanners, hard drives, monitors and video teleconferencing hardware).
• Provides software and system troubleshooting and support.
• Provides technical support and training to end-users
• Provide guidance, work related leadership and mentoringto less-experienced technicians
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned (desktop support)
• Participates in special projects as required

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education: High School diploma and 5+ years of directly related experienceOR Associates Degree and 3+ years of directly related experience
• Experience: Must have experience supportingend-user computing and customer support
• Strong written and oral communication
• Excellent customer service skills are required
• Experience with Microsoft Windows Workstation, operating systems, and common applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, Office 365)
• Experience with desktop/laptop and application support

• Location: Must go into the office in Panama City, FL 5x a week
