Job description

About Omnidian

Omnidian, Inc. is a fast-growing Series C tech-enabled service company revolutionizing performance assurance for the distributed solar and energy storage industries. Omnidian is building a more sustainable future for the planet through our passionate teams, our innovative technology, and by creating an amazing customer experience.

We are a certified B Corp, headquartered in Seattle. We are looking to fill this particular role with someone who can commit to a hybrid schedule in our Seattle office for more face-to-face interactions with team members.

The Job

As a Systems Specialist at Omnidian, you will be an essential part of our IT team, responsible for supporting and maintaining our global IT infrastructure.

You’ll be the primary point of contact for our team members when they need technical help, ensuring everyone has the tools they need to succeed in our mission to protect the planet. Reporting to IT leadership, you will manage daily operations like hardware setups and software troubleshooting while gaining hands‑on experience with high-level infrastructure projects.

What You'll Do

At Omnidian we believe in trust and autonomy. How you create an impact is ultimately up to you. Here is an outline of some of the things you’ll be doing:

IT Support & Administration
  • Provide day‑to‑day support for end‑user Windows and Mac workstations, office software, and licensing.
  • Respond to global service desk tickets and deliver timely resolutions to technical issues.
  • Manage user account provisioning and permissions across various systems.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets and software licenses.
  • Support employee onboarding/offboarding for a global remote staff.
  • Act as a key contributor to the team Knowledge Base by developing help articles and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in real‑time as new issues are encountered and new systems are deployed.
Infrastructure Project Support
  • Execute technical tasks for infrastructure projects (e.g., OS version deployments, configuration updates) under senior guidance.
  • Assist in the rollout of new 2026 initiatives, including IDP solutions, new MDM platforms, and ITAM solutions.
  • Use in‑depth tool knowledge to determine the right technical solutions for departmental needs.
  • Contribute to technical aspects of IT initiatives and user How-To guides during the deployment of new systems.
Security, Frameworks & AI‑Assisted Operations
  • Partner with the Information Security Team and senior IT staff to swiftly execute tasks required to remediate security findings and vulnerabilities.
  • Operate within the ITIL framework for service delivery, following a disciplined approach to incident, request, and change management.
  • Maintain a rigorous focus on proper Change Management procedures; demonstrate a deep understanding of the potential impact of infrastructure changes before execution to ensure minimal business disruption.
  • Leverage AI tools including Gemini, Claude AI to troubleshoot complex technical issues, synthesize logs, and analyze technical data.
  • Use Generative AI as a partner to rapidly draft, fine‑tune, and standardize SOPs and knowledge base documentation.
Who You Are
  • Flexible & Resilient: You thrive in dynamic environments and are comfortable with non‑standard hours when business‑critical situations arise.
  • Operational Awareness: You possess the situational awareness to identify how a single system issue can impact global productivity and act swiftly to mitigate risks before they escape into incidents.
  • Independent Critical Thinker: You are an independent problem‑solver who can evaluate complex scenarios and determine the most effective technical solution under the guidance of senior mentors.
  • AI‑Augmented Mindset: You proactively use AI tools like Gemini and Claude AI to increase your speed‑to‑solution for troubleshooting, process development, and documentation.
  • Communicator: You have articulate written and verbal communication skills, essential for a global, remote‑first environment.
Experience You’ll Need
  • Professional Experience: 2+ years in IT support, system administration, or a related field.
  • Global mindset: Experience working with colleagues across multiple countries.
  • OS Mastery: Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting both Mac and Windows systems.
  • Standardized Frameworks: Familiarity with ITIL lifecycle stages (Incident, Problem, and Change Management).
  • AI Proficiency: Demonstrated experience leveraging AI platforms (Gemini, Claude AI, etc.).
  • Technical Breadth: Experience with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with VOIP, Enterprise Malware, CRM Platforms, and MDM solutions.
  • Understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, firewalls).
  • Experience with VPN technologies and client configuration.
Experience That’s a Plus
  • AI‑Assisted Troubleshooting: Proven experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., Gemini, Claude AI, ChatGPT) to synthesize logs, troubleshoot complex OS issues, or draft technical documentation.
  • Cloud‑Native Foundations: Familiarity with managing cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) beyond simple user administration.
  • Advanced Automation: Experience building or maintaining workflows in tools like Make, Zapier, or Power Automate to bridge data between SaaS platforms.
  • Security & Audit Exposure: Participation in security remediation tasks or internal readiness for audits like SOC2 or ISO 27001.
  • Systems Implementation: Experience assisting in the rollout of enterprise‑wide software, such as an IDP (Okta/JumpCloud), MDM, or a CRM like Salesforce.
  • Infrastructure Mindset: Foundational knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, DNS) and identity architecture (SAML, SCIM, OIDC).
  • Professional Growth: Actively pursuing or holding certifications that align with our stack, such as ITIL 4 Foundation, CompTIA Network+, or Security+.
Logistics
  • We plan to have this role start as soon as possible.
  • We are unable to provide sponsorship for this role, now or in the future.
  • This role will spend 3-5 days/week in office, with the exact schedule determined in collaboration with your manager and teammates.

  • We offer a competitive total compensation package that includes monthly health insurance premiums, bonuses and long‑term stock options for every employee.
  • We love to lift each other up through company‑wide Slack channels such as #puppiesandpets, #omnidian-wellness, #praiseandbooms and #sustainablefuture.
