Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a System Safety & Reliability Engineer in Indianapolis, IN. You will model degradation/failure mechanisms, assess designs, and develop safety/reliability analyses to ensure product safety in challenging conditions.

Responsibilities include FHA/FMECA/SSAs and FRACAS support; requires US citizenship and advanced engineering degrees. Hybrid work arrangement and relocation assistance are available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or Engineering OR
• Master’s of Science in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or Engineering OR
• PhD degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or Engineering
• In order to be considered for this role, you must be a US citizen
• Multi-disciplinary collaboration and communication at multiple levels (component to system)
• Experience with Safety and/or Reliability engineering tools (Weibull++, XFMEA, XFRACAS, @RISK, Reliability Workbench)
• Ability to apply logical, analytical and innovative thinking to technical problems
• Deployment of Safety and Reliability engineering methods and tools
• Member of ASQ pursuing Certified Reliability Engineer credentials

Responsibilities

• Understand degradation and failure mechanisms to reduce hazards; model with deterministic or probabilistic/data mining methods
• Assess design solutions; deploy models at component to fleet levels for safety/reliability
• Support product development through FHA, FMECA, System Safety Assessments and documentation
• Support FRACAS and Reliability Initiatives in development and service phases
