Job summary
Rolls-Royce Corporation in Indianapolis seeks a System Safety & Reliability Engineer to analyze degradation and failure mechanisms, develop deterministic and probabilistic models, and assess design solutions affecting safety and reliability. Responsibilities include system-wide safety assessments and FRACAS support across development and in-service phases.
The role requires a BS/MS/PhD in Mathematics, Actuarial Science or Engineering and US citizenship; hybrid work is offered with relocation
Qualifications
- Bachelor/Master/PhD in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or Engineering required.
- US citizen required.
- Multi-disciplinary collaboration and communication skills are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Understand product degradation, failure mechanisms and consequences to reduce hazards.
- Develop and apply models using deterministic/probabilistic methods.
- Assess design solutions and analyze operation/maintenance impact on safety and reliability.
- Develop models at component, system, and fleet levels for safety and reliability assessment.
- Support Safety & Reliability analysis in product development and in-service phases (FHA, FMECA, System Safety Assessment, etc.).
- Support FRACAS and Reliability initiatives during development and service life.
