Qualifications

• 7+ years in System Safety Engineering.
• At least 1 year in a leadership role.
• Experience building and scaling technical teams (5+ engineers).
• Strong FHA/FTA/SCFTA/FMECA expertise.
• Knowledge of MIL-STD-882E and related safety standards.
• Background in defense/aerospace safety-critical hardware/software.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor System Safety Engineers across programs.
• Manage resources, capacity planning, and recruiting efforts.
• Conduct performance management and career development planning.
• Develop System Safety plans aligned with MIL-STD-882E.
• Define the organization’s vision and standardize safety processes.
• Oversee FHA, FTA, SCFTA, and SAR analyses.
• Develop safety requirements with design teams.
• Support Milestone Reviews (PDR/CDR/TRR).
• Engage with customers, regulators, and stakeholders on safety.
• Drive continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
