APPLE INC has the following available in Austin, Texas. Dimension and determine the tolerance of engineering drawings with high volume mass production. Review test and measurement data from engineering builds and iterate it on test definition as necessary to ensure design feasibility. Maintain awareness of state-of-the-art thermal and air moving technologies and determining which concepts may be worthy to pursue. Develop and prototype innovative thermal module and cooling fan concepts using analysis and first principles engineering. Determine methods to attach thermal modules to SoC’s to optimize performance and reliability. 40 hours/week.
Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field and 2 years of experience in the job offered or related occupation.Experience and/or education must include:Creating 2D mechanical drawings using CAD software to adequately communicate designs to external module vendors.Experience in the design of mechanical parts including experience with any of the following manufacturing methods: injection molding, stamping, forging, die casting, CNCDemonstrating knowledge of statics and mechanical structures with a track record of developing innovative designs.Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, Statistical Process Control or Cp/Cpk methodologies.Heat transfer as a requirement and experience with parts designed for thermal managementExperience in design for high volume consumer products.Design experience with any of the following: cooling fans, thermal modules, vapor chambers.
