System Performance Engineer, EVA and Space Suit Metrics

Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking a System Performance Engineer to support the EVA SE&I team, responsible for assessing and reporting the overall performance of the EVA spacesuit. The role requires developing metrics, tooling, and dashboards to inform decisions and improve system fidelity.

You will collaborate across the organization to ensure metrics stay up-to-date, support NASA deliverables, and communicate progress to leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience presenting technical data to a broad range of technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with using python, and SQL to manage, organize, and query large volumes of data.
• Experience with using python to develop tooling for performing analysis.
• Experience performing engineering analyses, including but not limited to mass analysis, consumables analysis, thermal analysis, power systems analysis, etc.
• Experience in systems engineering and space flight system development
• Experience leading design trades and performance assessments
• Track record of making things happen in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
• Uses good judgement to problem-solve proactively, positively impacting hard challenges
• Demonstrated organization skills to meet tight deadlines with high-quality results

Responsibilities

• Implement integrated system performance analysis metrics for the EVA program.
• Identify and track key technical performance metrics for the space suit.
• Contribute to management, organization, and analysis of test data to inform system metrics.
• Develop and implement tooling to perform analysis of test data
• Develop and implement mechanisms for maturing these metrics as system fidelity increases.
• Collaborate across the organization to ensure system metrics are up to date, and coordinate integration of analysis products for NASA delivery.
• Create and maintain system performance dashboards and other data visualization tools.
• Communicate project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership.
• Implementing and maintaining agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Perform additional job duties as assigned
