Overview:
Reporting to the President of St. Luke's Medical Group, the Service Line Medical Director (SMD) has the shared with the service line Administrator for development, design, and execution of the service line's vision and strategy for St. Luke's Health System. The SMD is responsible for oversight, supporting, and innovating with existing and new programs that will drive the best possible outcomes at the lowest total cost of care and for facilitating variation reduction efforts across the health system within the service line.
St. Luke's Acute Care Services delivers advanced, coordinated care across eight hospitals, spanning tertiary and critical access settings. Our comprehensive service line includes hospital medicine, emergency care, radiology, and pulmonary critical care, working together to provide seamless, high-quality care across the health system. Across Acute Care Services, we are committed to operating as one integrated system, connecting physicians, clinical teams, operational leaders, and resources across sites and specialties to improve access, strengthen coordination, and deliver a consistently exceptional standard of care.
Maintain a part-time clinical practice.
Serve to inspire, develop, and execute on best practice services & programs focused on access, quality, safety, experience, & culture.
Lead physicians and APP's within the service line to adopt care models that progressively improve outcomes of care, experience of care, and cost of care.
Drive best-in-class care by leveraging performance indicators in patient safety, care experience, clinical operations, and finance across ambulatory operating units.

MD/DO from accredited medical school and successful completion of an accredited residency program
At least 5 years of clinical practice, with demonstrated progressive leadership roles within healthcare. Medical group leadership experience strongly preferred
Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of practice
Maintain board certification within specialty
Current licenses with full prescriptive authority from the Federal DEA and Idaho Board of Pharmacy
Eligibility to obtain Medical Staff Privileges with St. Luke's Health System
