Job summary

AMD in Austin, TX is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to support the System Level Test (SLT) Engineering Lab. This highly hands-on role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing test systems used to validate next‑generation AMD silicon products.

The position is fully onsite with a compressed night‑shift schedule. You will work closely with engineers and technicians, perform preventive maintenance, updates to software/firmware/BIOS, and handle component repairs with basic

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with test equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Experience using multimeters and performing basic electronic diagnostics; soldering experience preferred.
Knowledge of computer hardware, including servers, memory, storage, and system assembly.
Basic Linux operating system and command-line experience.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance, calibration processes, and tester validation.

Responsibilities

Support System Level Test (SLT) equipment setup and operation for silicon validation activities.
Perform software, firmware, and BIOS updates on test systems.
Troubleshoot test failures, electronic circuit boards, and hardware-related issues.
Execute tester validation and preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime.
Perform component-level repairs and soldering as needed.
Use diagnostic tools, including multimeters, to support hardware troubleshooting.
Partner with engineering and operations teams to support daily lab activities and priorities.
