Job summary

Baptist Health is seeking a System Informatics Pharmacist Specialist to join our Central Pharmacy Team. This remote role supports technologies improving medication use and patient care, including automation and project management.

The specialist serves as a resource for pharmacy system changes across disciplines. Requirements include KY and IN pharmacist licenses (or eligibility within 12 months), 2+ years hospital pharmacy experience, and experience with pharmacy automation and informatics

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice pharmacy in Kentucky and Indiana, or eligible within 12 months.
• KY license must specify preceptor status.
• Minimum 2+ years hospital pharmacy or equivalent experience.
• ASHP-accredited PGY-2 in Pharmacy Informatics or equivalent preferred.
• Experience with pharmacy automation technologies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as informatics pharmacist resource for pharmacy system changes.
• Support automation and technology systems management.
• Train and educate staff on informatics tools and processes.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and IT teams.

Summary Job Description: Baptist Health is looking for a System Informatics Pharmacist Specialist to join our Central Pharmacy Team! This is a remote opportunity for candidates residing in KY or IN, other states may be considered. The Informatics Pharmacist Specialist uses knowledge of information technology (IT) systems and medication use process to improve patient care by supporting technologies that lead to safer, more cost-effective medication use. This role includes automation and technology systems management, management of projects, and training and education. The Informatics Pharmacist Specialist supports pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members as the resource for requests related to pharmacy system changes. The position requires thorough knowledge of pharmacy practice, pharmacy automation, clinical information systems, and pharmacy computer systems.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited College of Pharmacy Kentucky Board of Pharmacy and Indiana Board of Pharmacy license or willing and eligible to achieve within 12 months of hire, Kentucky license must specify that they are a preceptor. 2+ years hospital pharmacy experience (or similar experience) required. Pharmacy automation experience preferred. Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY-2 residency in Pharmacy Informatics (or similar experience) preferred. Proficiency with Omnicell/Parata, EPIC, and other pharmacy related technologies preferred.
